Ace is a nineteen-year-old senior dog who was surrendered to the Sonoma Shelter in California. However, he and the other shelter dogs ended up being transferred to a different location when a bushfire happened.
Bonnie went to visit Ace at the new shelter he was in and checked him out. Bonnie was surprised to see how the senior pooch still had so much life in him despite being a nineteen-year-old pup.

Bonnie knew that Ace has not been well-taken cared of, and went through a lot. Bonnie only wanted for Ace to get out of the shelter, so she asked if she could foster him.
Ace went home with his new foster mom and lived with Bonnie’s other dogs named Randy, Rula, and Kodiak. The three dogs started sniffing Ace, and, fortunately, they all got along well.
Bonnie recalled that Ace was aloof and tried not to get noticed during his first three weeks into his new home. Ace did not care whether his foster mom pets her or not.
Bonnie shared that Ace started feeling comfortable and acted more like himself after three weeks. Ace began playing tug-o-war with Rula and fetching balls.
Bonnie said that Ace loved leading the pack while they were taking long walks outside. Bonnie shared that Ace does not look like he is a senior dog because of how energetic he is.
Bonnie shared that Ace loves all the toys that she gives and has never met any plaything that he does not like. Ace received 67 adoption applications, but he got sick and had twelve dental extractions.
Ace would not be released until he has fully recovered from his dental surgery, so he spent another month under Bonnie’s care. Bonnie shared that Ace could not play with any of his toys, so he sought attention from her.
Bonnie recalled that Ace looked happy to see her and even jumped on her chest as soon as she arrived from a shopping trip. Bonnie knew right away that Ace was a foster failure and adopted him right away.
