When Rocky, a mixed breed hailing from India, got herself into a terrible accident on the tracks of a railway station in Ballabgarh, people thought that she wouldn’t survive. The pup was already bleeding profusely, and both her front legs appeared to be crushed.
Thankfully, she was spotted by the Railway Police, who immediately reached out to the local animal rescue service, People For Animals Trust Faridabad. The rescue organization’s founder, Ravi Dubey, rushed to the scene and brought Rocky back to the rescue center to get treated.
However, because of her severe injuries, the vets decided that it was best to amputate her legs. Ravi was heartbroken when he found out the pup’s fate, and he realized that the accident would put a toll on Rocky’s life. He expected that the canine would be more aloof and timid after the operation.
But the moment Rocky came home to recover from the surgery, Ravi was surprised that she was nothing short of sweet and cuddly. She was very affectionate towards humans, and while she was uncomfortable around other dogs, she eventually managed to make a few doggy friends that she trusted.
She also quickly got used to her new condition and learned to navigate her way around with her back legs. For now, the pup would be staying with Ravi until the People For Animals Trust Faridabad’s partner, Wild at Heart Foundation, raised enough funds to send her to the UK.
The animal rescue foundation, which is dedicated to helping dogs with severe disabilities and injuries, has already found a new home for Rocky. So once they collect about £10,000 for Rocky’s transportation, treatment, and aftercare, the pup will fly out to the UK to meet her new family.
Wild at Heart Foundation is also looking forward to acquiring prosthetic legs for the brave pup. Look at her inspiring story here.
