A cat named Charlie has been the only furry baby in her family for some time. So when her family adopted a baby pup named Harley, Charlie was not the happiest about it. Like most cats, Charlie is affectionate and laid-back, but when Harley came along, the nine-year-old cat realized that he needed to use a lot of his energy.
Harley and Charlie’s fur mom, Melissa Ramsey Coogle, said that her fur babies are basically frenemies. Melissa said that when they’re in the house, Charlie has no choice but to play with Harley. Charlie would usually hit the pup’s face with her tail, and Harley would try to pin Charlie’s tail down. After playing together for a while, Charlie would then hit Harley’s face with her paw out of nowhere.
The mischievous cat likes sneaking out of her home every time she gets a chance. But Harley is always on the lookout and tries with all her might to catch her sneaky older brother. Harley treats the yard as her own and does not tolerate any outsider, even if it is Charlie.
But after sneaking out for a while, Charlie finally found a way to show Harley that he has the authority over her. Charlie recently discovered the ‘invisible fence.’ Charlie knows that Harley is trained to stay within their yard and not to cross over to the sidewalk or street, so Charlie uses this to his advantage.
Whenever he sneaks out, Charlie runs past their yard until he reaches the boundary of Harley’s ‘invisible fence’ even before Harley could catch him. Once he’s out of the boundary, Charlie paces back and forth as if to show Harley that he can do things she can’t. In defeat, Harley sits in their yard watching her brother hopelessly.
Charlie does everything to show Harley that he is superior, but Harley won’t sit still and watch. The pup patiently camps in their yard, waiting for her brother to come back in the yard so that she could pounce on him. But despite all this, both Harley and Charlie love and snuggle with each other after taunting one another all day.
