Corbin, a 150-pound Great Dane, is described by his fur mom, Karen, as a gentle giant.
When Corbin is outside, a lot of people will stay away from him, fearing that he will trample them. But little do they know, Corbin is a clumsy and wimpy dog. He is even afraid of his shadow. What makes Corbin a great dog is that he is a gentle foster dad to kittens.
Karen has been a foster mom to kittens from Ontario SPCA and Humane Society for years now. She loves fostering kittens because she loves the idea of helping to raise a child’s future best friend. However, she admits that Corbin is the one who benefits the most in her fostering activities. Corbin loves when Karen allows him to be near the kittens and to spend some time with them.
Karen admitted that at first, she was skeptical about Corbin getting near the kittens. She was worried that her giant dog would trample on them because Corbin could be clumsy at times. Her worries were proved to be irrational when she saw Corbin sitting beside the kittens and acted as their nanny.
Corbin would let the kittens play around him. He didn’t even mind the kittens snuggle around him. Sometimes, he would even lick the kittens to clean them up!
Corbin had a favorite kitten among the litter. He loved Jesper the most. Karen said that Jesper and Corbin instantly connected and for her, it was the sweetest moment. Jesper would always stay close beside Corbin and play around him.
When Jesper was adopted, Corbin was a bit heartbroken, but he was able to immediately moved on as he clearly understood his role of being a foster dad.
Corbin shares his daily adventures outdoors and with his foster kittens on Instagram.
Continue to be a gentle giant, Corbin!
