Andrea found a sick, abandoned puppy with a nasty skin disease. The pup’s right ear is covered with so many dried flakes; there is a risk that it might rot away and fall on the ground. She felt sorry for the animal and decided to bring him to the vet. The animal doctor, upon seeing the sorry plight of this poor creature, declared him a lost cause and suggested that he be put to sleep.
Horrified, Andrea took the tiny beast home for a while and noticed that the little dog is happier now. It eats, it does its best to play in spite of its injuries and is altogether a cheerful dog. Andrea decided to keep him and name him Benjie.
Benjie stunk. Something needed to be done with his scaly skin. Andrea bathed him once a week and applied virgin coconut oil to his skin. Women mainly use virgin coconut oil as a beauty supplement for healthy skin and hair. Why not use it on dogs, too?
In just three months, Benjie showed a huge improvement. His black, flaky skin is now showing a healthier texture. He seemed to know that he looks much better as there appeared to be a more confident swagger to his gait. And what is this? Tiny fur has begun to sprout into his epidermis. No wonder he is leaping with joy!
As the fur grew, Andrea discovered that Benjie has a mixture of a dark brown and tan coat. To celebrate, they took their beloved pet to the beach where he basked in the sun, sand, and sea. They played tag, and Benjie was buried under the sand with only his neck showing. It was the best day ever!
The creature whom the vet gave up on is now one of the happiest and healthiest dogs in the world.
