Theo, a senior Golden retriever, was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors can’t say how much longer he has to live, but his determined foster parents are willing to give him a fun-filled time for the remaining of his days.
Meet Theo, a senior dog with cancer
When Jenny Leech and her husband found Theo abandoned at a parking lot in Walmart, their hearts immediately went out to him. Theo was already old at twelve years old, and it’s sad to see him living alone for the rest of his life.
So, Jenny decided to take Theo in. When she got Theo checked, she found out that the old dog has several nodules in his abdomen, which turned out to be cancerous. The oncologist couldn’t say precisely how much time Theo has left.
Despite Theo’s diagnosis, the senior pup displayed happiness and positivity. Jenny believes Theo deserves to live the rest of his days feeling loved, so she crafted a special bucket list for him. The bucket list has no definite number. It will keep growing for as long as Theo is with them.
A bucket list for Theo
Theo’s bucket list started with simple wishes, such as buying a burger at a drive-thru or chewing on a bone. Theo was happy and satisfied to be able to enjoy such pleasures. Jenny also makes sure to document each of Theo’s adventures on Facebook.
People soon caught wind of Theo’s story and expressed how inspired and awed they were by this adorable pooch. Theo’s followers chipped in their suggestions for his bucket list and even sent him loads of toys and tons of other cool stuff.
Theo’s bucket list got more exciting each day. He won at a lottery, watched a drive-in movie with his canine friends, and met tons of other rescued animals at a sanctuary. Since his story has gone viral, Theo’s previous owners also reached out to him and they had the opportunity to reconnect.
Theo’s future is uncertain. Cancer can take him away anytime from his loved ones. But one thing is for sure: Theo will feel only love and happiness for the remaining of his days.
