Through the years, dogs prove how amazing they can be as friends. They don’t hold the title “man’s best friend” for nothing. But sometimes, they also manifest the fantastic friendship they can offer to their fellow fur babies. One dog proved that she would never leave a friend in times of trouble.
Ten-year-old Pomeranian Sandy experienced a lousy afternoon when her fur mom’s house got caught in a fire. The dog managed to run out and escaped with owner Lily Ifield. That’s when they realized another fur baby got left behind inside the burning house – Lily’s other dog, a thirteen-year-old Chihuahua named Tina.
Sandy did the most amazing thing – she ran back inside the house to look for Tina. The Pomeranian stayed with her tiny senior friend until firefighters arrived to put out the fire. Their owner, Lily, screamed in horror when Sandy ran back inside their burning house.
According to her, she thought their house would explode. She panicked, even more, when the billowing black cloud of smoke grew bigger and bigger by the second. She also feared for the life of one of the dogs, Tina, who was still inside the house. She did not expect Sandy to go back and accompany the Chihuahua.
Lily said she started crying when Sandy did not come out again after going back in for Tina. The fire responders also could not believe the courageous act of the Pomeranian – for going back inside a burning building is scary enough, even for humans.
According to the firefighters, they found Sandy and Tina sitting side by side inside the kitchen, obviously distraught but okay. Sandy looked after Tina and looked as though she protected Tina from the fire. Lily hugged her fur babies as soon as the firefighters brought them out, away from harm – all thanks to Sandy’s great act of friendship.
