Huskies are known to adore winter. Huskies and Golden Retrievers are considered to be Nordic breeds; they were bred to thrive in cold, snowy conditions. Nordic breeds tend to like snow much more than those with thin coats like Greyhounds or Bulldogs. Because of their thick layers, it is not advisable to have a pet Husky in tropical countries. During the summer, temperatures could reach up to 40°C, and keeping them locked in an airconditioned room is no excuse either, as these breeds love to frolic in the great outdoors.
A Husky named K’eyush (let’s call him “Key”) is a chatty, lively and lovable canine who animatedly talks to his Mum about everything under the sun! Key is an avid fan of winter. In fact, snow is probably his second-best favorite in the world (right after waffles). Winter is here, and Key can’t wait to roll in the snow!
Key and his Mum are at home watching the weather report and the news anchor was predicting a cold front with a bit of rain shower. He howled desperately at the reporter, “Where’s my snow?”
The TV responded with a segment on rain showers entitled “Ready For Cats And Dogs.” But Key doesn’t like rain. Key wants snow! Rain is not fun. Rain is wet. Snow is better. You can make snow angels, not rain angels. Snow is good!
But there is no snow today. Key’s Mum, sensing his disappointment, decided to take Key out for a walk. It was freezing and very windy. Mum’s face and fingers were numb, but Key is having the time of his life! The cold wind is blowing on his fur, and his paws were making soundless pit-pats on the frozen gravel. Key and Mum are having a friendly chat. Key cannot stop talking about why he loves winter!
