It is quite normal for canines to spring into action the moment they realize their owners and homes are in danger. But it seemed like sometimes, guard dogs don’t need to be big and bulky to scare off assailants. Even a canine as small and cute as this adorable Maltese pup from Australia can do the job just fine.
Seven-eight-year-old Lynda Knuth, living in Heatley Townsville, Queensland, was awoken one morning by an unusual commotion coming from the front of her house. It was only around six in the morning, and she wasn’t expecting any visitors, so the noise came as a surprise.
Naturally, she headed towards the front door to check out what the fuss was about. That was when she saw her door, which she knew she had locked with three latches, was mysteriously left open. Before she could process what was has happened, her brave Maltese, Marley, was already bolting straight outside.
She followed the barking pooch and noticed two unknown men heading towards a white car parked in front of her home. Marley continued chasing the intruders to their driveway, all while barking his mightiest bark.
Lynda then realized that she was almost robbed. If it weren’t for Marley’s bravery, she might have already lost valuable things in her home. Lucky for her, the adorable Maltese scared the burglars away even before they could snatch anything from the house.
Lynda was so thankful for her little hero, Marley, that she promised him a Scotch fillet for dinner. She also went ahead and uploaded a clip of the pup’s bravery on Facebook. It was thankfully caught on her surveillance camera for all the world to see.
The footage had already circulated the entire internet to date, earning over 61,000 views on Facebook and almost 80,000 upvotes on Reddit. Watch little Marley’s act of bravery here.
Some unwanted visitors this morning, just unlocked my three locks on my front door and didn’t notice that my screen door (must have )was un locked. Just went back into my bathroom when my little hero Marley headed for the door at a hundred miles an hour and my would be robbers took off and jumped into a white car parked out side. This was at about 6am this morning with my kitchen light on lucky for me they didn’t have time to steal anything. Marley is getting Scotch fillet for dinner tonight. If any one recognise either of these men please ring 131444. Thank you.
