Meatball, or Meaty for short, was once a lonely Pitbull. He was given that name because he was short and stocky, like a meatball.
Meaty felt hopeless at the shelter. It seemed that there was no reason for him to smile at all.
Meaty was at Fresno Bully Rescue with Lisa Reilly saw her. Lisa was still devastated about the loss of her dog, Kitty, months ago. She instantly felt that Meaty was perfect for her growing dog family.
After Lisa brought Meaty home from the shelter, he showed his biggest smile as his way of thanking him. Meaty was clingy at first, but as soon as he adjusted to his new life, he slowly showed his fun personality.
Meaty never stopped smiling ever since.
Meaty is an Instagram celebrity! At present, he has more than 150,000 followers who adore his cute and friendly face. He always wears cute costumes and headbands for his fans to see. He also poses with his dog siblings, Punky and Ricardo Tubbs, both Pitbull rescue dogs, and Dachshunds Dappe and Bitty.
Lisa’s husband would sometimes bring Meaty to his work at the police department. He was called “McMeat, The Crime-Fighting Dog” at the station. Meaty loved the attention that he gets from the police and visitors. He was indeed a people-loving dog!
In 20919, five years after Lisa brought Meaty home, he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. It was hard for Lisa to accept the death of Meaty because he had brought so much happiness and joy into her life. Moreover, Meaty has inspired a lot of people, debunking all the stereotypes against his breed. His Instagram is a reminder that all dogs, despite their sizes and shapes, are special and can do amazing things.
Run free, Meaty, and wait for your dog siblings and Lisa at the end of the bridge!
