Every dog owner out there knows that these four-legged creatures have a penchant for imitating everything their human does. Whether these activites be taking a dip in the pool, singing at the top of their lungs, or eating ice cream, dogs are bound to attempt to do the same thing at some point in their lives.
Interestingly, it’s not just the random things that dogs like to imitate. A thread that went viral online recently showed that dogs have a knack for copying the way humans sit, too! They want to sit upright, and they don’t care if it makes them look like total weirdos.
The rarest sit
Apparently, there are different types of sitting positions as far as our favorite pups are concerned. The most popular sitting position is called the “hooman sit,” where dogs let their legs stretch to one side while slouching their backs. It’s kind of like when you want to lie down but you need to remain upright.
The thread revealed another position that dogs also enjoy doing. They call it “the rarest sit,” which, according to dog owners, is the perfect combination of style and comfort. Dogs execute it by resting their butt and hind legs on one stair while extending their front legs to the stair below.
The location varies, of course. Some dogs like to do this position on the stairs while others prefer the couch or the bed.
A thread of yoga-like poses
People who have been checking out the photos on the thread commented that the multilevel sit looked like the dogs’ version of some yoga poses. The dogs looked so adorable while doing all sorts of sitting positions, people could not resist liking them and commenting on them. It’s no wonder the thread went viral in a short span of time!
