A service dog in training goes through various kinds of challenges and difficulties to test their compatibility with the job. It might be quite a handful to be given such responsibility, but being a service dog is not all work and no play. Sometimes, they get to enjoy the little things in life now and then, too, just like this adorable pooch named Mushu.
Mushu is one of the assistance dogs in training at the Perfect Fit Canines based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He currently works under the supervision of Kathryn Eland, who brought the pooch to Santa Rosa, California to learn the works of a service canine.
Kathryn had Mushu ever since he was just a nine-week-old puppy. She lets him experience various scenarios where he would learn skills that can be useful for the job. Mushu, being the bright and responsible pooch that he is, already mastered quite a handful of skills.
In fact, he will finally complete his training in the summer, when he will be assigned to an owner with a disability. Since Mushu is a top-notch student, Kathryn decided to reward him with a special toy that he will get to pick himself.
She brought him to a Build-A-Bear store in their area and let Mushu pick out his favorite bear design. Once he found his perfect match, he strutted to one of the staff while carrying the cream-colored teddy in his mouth. The staff, who will be filling the bear with stuffing, happily accepted the bear from Mushu and went on to their filling machines.
Mushu watched with utmost concern as his little friend was being stuffed. It was adorable how worrisome he looked while Kathryn filmed the entire scenario. Once everything was finished, Mushu merrily waltzed out of the store with his new toy. Watch the adorable scene here.
