People have different standards of what is acceptable. And most of the time, something that does not meet that standard gets rejected. That’s what happened to a bulldog puppy who was born with a condition.
Dog breeders surrendered the puppy to an animal shelter in Mexico because he wasn’t “normal.” He was too small.
When the puppy was born, he was about one-fourth the size of his siblings. And because his body did not develop properly, he couldn’t walk the way other dogs could. He could sit, stand, walk, and run, but his hind legs didn’t have as much strength as his front legs.
Because of these “abnormalities,” the breeder who owned him gave him up. Thankfully, an organization called Road Dogs and Rescue took him in and fostered him.
The staff at Road Dogs and Rescue named him Quarrie Modo. And they discovered that despite the puppy’s small size, he had a big personality that easily won the hearts of everyone around him.
Quarrie Modo had a loud, high-pitched puppy bark that sounded so cute. He barked when he played with his toys. He barked when he played with humans. He barked when the humans teased him.
The bulldog puppy also had a lot of energy. Even when his hind legs were not strong enough, he loved his playtime. He could play alone or with a human; he liked it either way. And he would invite other dogs to play with him.
Quarrie Modo also had a hearty appetite. He devoured the food in his bowl. Whenever he ate his food, he looked like he was enjoying a tasty gourmet treat.
When you look at this tiny puppy, you wouldn’t think he had an “abnormality” at all. Quarrie Modo himself didn’t look like he was affected by his weak hind legs. This little bulldog loves life so much that he couldn’t care less.
Quarrie Modo reminds us that being rejected for not conforming to people’s standards is not a reason to stop loving life. Watch him in the video below.
